Probably One of the worst $20k performances
I managed to qualify for the $20k in the 6.15 qualifier and got off to a slow start, remaining around my starting stack for the first hour. After the break things started to take off and I was up to 20k and chip leader thanks to hitting a set twice in a row, the second time with caller flopping a lower set, always good. Then AK suited, cut off raises to 1200, and holding AKh in BB, I push, and suprisingly he instantly calls his remaining 3500 with A9os, flop A 9!! What a fucking joker. Then possibly the WORST hand I have played in a long time. 10 10 in BB, Dewi in cut off raises 3x, and I flat call. I have 17k he has 10k, flop J 7 2, he bets 2k into 2400 pot. I believe Im ahead for some retarded reason. Turn 7, he pushes the rest of his stack, and for a reason that I cannot explain, I call. He shows QJ, oooops!!! Down to 6k with 45 left. Gone from chip leader to low stack in one hand. Shocker. I dont know how, but I manage to make the money and with 18 left I go from 4k to 21k in 3 hands. Then I push with Ak, and QQ calls, no improvement. Back to 13k. From there in it was uphill and I eventually went out with 99 v 1010 v KJ, not calling the police like I had hoped. Oh well, thats yet another cash in the $20k, I havent failed to make the money since it converted to the $20k in about 6 attempts. Suppose I should be happy. On a lighter note, poor Chr201034, he bubbled in the qualifier for the $20k and so had to sit and watch me instead lol. Doubt I will be playing much for a while, but knowing Chr he will be all over the $20k qualifiers every nite.

Cry Me A River
Absolutely awful day at the tables, 3 tournys in a row I got outdrawn on the river. Firstly I get KJ on button, raise 3X, BB calls, flop K J 9, he bets the pot and I believe he has Q, knowing he wouldnt bet if he already had the nuts. I push so as not to let him hit, but of course he calls with Q4, and what comes on the river?? 10. HAHA good start. Next I have 10 10, raise to 150, blinds 15/30, I get one caller, flop 2 4 8, not too shabby, until he pushes all in. Hmmmm, I think long and hard and then decide to call, he turns over AK, wot comes on the river?K. Finally I have AJ and call a 3X BB raise as Im on button, flop J 7 3, nice. I bet 500 into a 900 pot, he calls, turn 10, I fear the straight is imminent and in go the rest of my stack. He calls almost instantly with AQ??? river Q. Its days like these you want to give up the game, but depsite this I made a loss of only £33 today which wasn't too bad considering my luck. A few days off now, but you may see Chr201034 in the $20k at some point so good luck to him.

Another day, another final table
Played three tournaments today, the $20k qualifier at 3pm, again successfully winning a seat, a £1500 guaranteed £20 where I played poo and the 1200 EURO guaranteed, in which I managed a 4th finish although I was leading for most of the tourny. Decisive hand I have A4 clubs BB, aggressor raises UTG 3x and I call. Flop brings 2 7 8, 2 clubs. I decided to push, as I put him on overcards and push! He calls also with flush draw Kc 10c. turn 10, im out!! Good for £85 and im slowly creeping back up the leaderboard. Hopefully another $20k tonite will improve my position even more.

22/5/07
After successfully qualifying at 5pm I was set for a long night in the $20k. After receiving no hands in the first 40 minutes, I received KK only for everyone to fold to my 4x big blind raise. Next hand I get dealt JJ. Raise. Get reraised so push all in thinking at worst it's 50/50. Only for him to turnover KK. My tournament was over before it really got started.
A quick note on the subject of experts. Alot of people think they are experts yet fail to qualify for the $20k, so deno20 and Chr201034 would like these supposed "experts" to qualify before giving out advice.
Thanks

I would just like to give a shout out to ClintonO. I have been reading his blog for a while now, and find it all very interesting. He is the main reason we decided to start the blog, after coming 3rd in the $20k. Cheers Clint, all the best.
Jeri
Can anyone confirm that Jeri is infact a Will Hill employee? Only every time I watch he seems to hit when he is so far behind he can't even see the table
The £12k
Back in the good old days of the £12k I climbed aboard the multi table train in search of the promised land. Qualifying as a massive short stack with only 410 chips and an Ante level of 100, I was pleased to see two idiots go all in with each other AA v KK, when waiting 4 hands would have seen me out. However I shall not complain as this was the beginning of something beautiful.
Winning a few early hands, I managed to buil up a solid stack. I was then to receive AA so raised it a bit only to get called by big blind. Middle comes 669. He pushes all in, which I call as I can feel an ace on the horizon. Over he turns K6. The ace did come on the river giving me a full house. Nice double up before the first break. Not much happened until the final table, when people continued to lose pushing me up the prize money. I managed to get KK and double up to about 40k chips. Eventually it was heads up, to which I was a massive short stack. Battling back to a 50/50 split of chips I was dealt K3. The flop comes down 782. Both check it round. Turn is a K. I check he bets I call. over comes 7. Im all in. He calls and turns over K7. Full house and game over. Oh well for a 3rd outing in the competiton. I was pleased and now look forward to playing the $20k

Hey, just thought we would introduce ourselves. This blog has been created by Alex and Chris, for the entertainment of the poker world. We are both 21 and have been playing poker for about 3 years, only recently more serious. We decided to start playing more after Chris came 2nd in the £12k after 3 attempts, and well with me I have had 4 FT in the £12/$20k and 3-4 in the £10k/8k, as well as numerous smaller wins.
$20k 22nd May 2007
A 3rd cash in 3 $20k entries kept me happy. After qualifying for the tourny twice through the day, it felt as though Littlewoods were paying me to play!!
Great start, 8 minutes in I receive QQ in the cut off. Get a raise before me to 100, i reraise to 460, not keen on seeing a A or K flop. Flop 8 9 10. Initial raiser checks, I bet in for 500. He calls, hmmmm. turn 5, he again checks, i push all in for about 1500 as I think he may be holding JJ (my mate Chr201034 put him on AJ) and dont want him to hit. He calls, with AJ, misses. Up to 5100. Niceeee. My high of the first hour was 6800 but somehow ended it on 4800, which didnt please me much. However by the second break im up to 13k and comfortable, just by picking up the pots here and there, no real all in situations which pleased me. With the bubble approaching with 33 left, I get Aj in BB, and as he had been doing all night, mtteater produced a minimum raise on the button, SB calls, and I called. Flop A 2 5. Small blind leads with 3k, I raise to 9k, mtteater folds suprisingly. SB calls, turn 9, he pushes all in for 9k, if i call ill be left with 5k, but the pot was huge and there was something fishy about his play. After a while I call, he turns over A3, and misses river. Up to 32k. Nothing much happened until we reached final table, where I was 9th on 21k, having lost to the blinds. Within about 15 mins, we were down to 8. I get 99, and excitingly move in to be called by a shorter stack with AKd. 2 diamonds on flop worries me, but he doesnt improve. Up to 50k and feeling more comfortable. A few more got knocked out and with 4 left, I get JJ SB, and the button raises. I push and he calls with A9 but doesnt improve. 120k. Then down to 3. Again JJ, again same person same button raise. I push. He ponders for a whilem before calling with KQo. Flop and turn bring 3 hearts, I have Jh, he doesnt have any. 4 outs. River Qs. Ouchhhhhhhhhh. 3rd for $2230. Not bad for my 3rd attempt in the tourny, with the previous two cashing at 28th
